Song 1
Recorded at Full Sail, this song was mixed in the Ghost Lab. Why is it called the Ghost lab? Because the Soundcraft Ghost Console is used in that particular studio. Cleaver isn't it! While mixing this song I had a chance to experiment with different EQ techniques and vocal tricks. I know that the doubled vocal is fairly basic; however, I believe that it helps to fill the sound of the song and adds more depth.

Song 2
This song was mixed again at Full Sail in the Digital Mix Lab. The console used was the Sony DMX-R100. This song was fun for the reason that we had access to good outboard gear. Lexicon reverb, T.C. Electronics reverb and Universal Audio Compressors were all used to help shape the tone of this song.

Song 3
This song was mixed in the Mix Palace at Full Sail. Again I was using the Song DMX-R100. I tried to leave this song fairly "raw". I tried to keep the feel of the original performance so that I would take away from the musicians contributions to the song. To get this sound I didn't use any compression except a light amount on the bass to get a fatter sound. The only reverb I used was a small room verb to get the feel that this performance could have been in a night club.

Song 4
This song is very important to me. It was my winning entry to the Full Sail Chapter Audio Engineering Society Mix Competition. I went up against 40 of my peers in a 3 hour competion to come up with the winning mix. This song was challenging for the sole reason of the electric violin. In nature the electric violin is a brittle, harsh sounding instrument. To make this instrument sound more authentic to a "real" violin, I had to spend a lot time tweaking the EQ just right and adding the correct amount of reverb to get the sound I was looking for.

Song 5
This song was written with the sole intention of my sister's wedding. The lyrics were written by my sister for her husband, I simply added music. This is one of my favorite songs that I have written. I hold it very close to my heart. So if you don't like it, don't tell me!
